At the inception of CTMRF, a sanction was obtained for one seat in DNB Pediatrics in 1989. From that status, today we have 10 DNB seats, 5 of which are 2 year courses for students’ who have completed their DCH Course. In the year 1998 one seat was sanctioned for Pediatric Surgery, a 6 year long direct course for a candidate with M.B.B.S. degree. National Board of Examinations sanctioned a two year Fellowship in Critical Care in 2007 and a three year course in Neonatology in 2009. Indian Academy of Pediatrics recognized the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, to train two fellows for a period of two years in Critical Care Medicine. Candidates have all been successful in the examination and so far have procured 7 Gold medals for the All India best student award in Pediatrics during the year 2002 – 2009.
